Stormy Daniels’s lawyer Michael Avenatti has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after a woman reportedly filed felony domestic violence charges against him following an incident that allegedly occurred between the two on Tuesday, then a second confrontation the next day.

“We’re told her face was ‘swollen and bruised’ with ‘red marks’ on both cheeks,” TMZ reports.

We’re told security brought her inside the building, took her upstairs and Michael showed up 5 minutes later and ran into the building. He screamed repeatedly, ‘She hit me first.’ We’re told he angrily added, ‘This is bulls***, this is f***ing bulls***.’ We’re told he tried getting into the elevator but security denied him access.

Cops showed up and escorted Avenatti into a corner of the apartment lobby and spoke with him for 5 to 10 minutes and then took him into custody.

TMZ also reported the charges were filed against Avenatti by his estranged wife, Lisa Storie-Avenatti. But in a statement to BuzzFeed News, her lawyer said that was false.

“Ms. Storie-Avenatti was not subject to any such incident on Tuesday night. Further, she was not at Mr. Avenatti’s apartment on the date that this alleged incident occurred,” the statement reads. “My client states that there has never been domestic violence in her relationship with Michael and that she has never known Michael to be physically violent toward anyone.”

Last month, Avenatti flirted with the possibility of running for president in 2020. Sen. Chuck Grassley referred Avenatti and his client, Julie Swetnick, to the U.S. Department of Justice for a criminal investigation.‘ Grassley claims Avenatti and Swetnick may have made false claims against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Swetnick alleged that Kavanaugh and his friends were part of a group of high school students who repeatedly gang-raped women, a claim Grassley said was riddled with inconsistencies.
